Staying positive

Our interest rate lock expires today. We locked in a low interest rate 45 days ago, a week or so after our offer was chosen to be sent to the bank as THE offer, and I chose 45 days instead of 30 days *just in case* the bank lagged. The bank is lagging. 45 days has quickly come and gone and we're still waiting, and faced with either paying $690 for an extension on the rate lock or letting it expire and hoping we'll get another comparable (or better!) deal. Noelle says the last update was that they were making some progress moving to the 2nd phase negotiator with the 1st Trust Deed and into the closing department on the 2nd Trust Deed, which means the preliminary review met the requirements to be considered for approval. Um... good? It's kind of a bummer that we won't get to be in our new home for Christmas. I was hoping to decorate this year (and not just ornaments on sticks either) but it looks like I'll have to wait until next year. *Cue violins*

I'm keeping my spirits up by thinking of paint colors for the house. These colors of 2010 were just released by House Beautiful and I love all of them. Even that baby blue, although I'd like it to be lighter and have more green in it. I'm thinking a light gray with ivory trim in the living room, maybe that grape hyacinth in the dining room, and a warmer gray in our bedroom. Gray goes with everything and has so many hue variations. Me likey.

Hang in there! REO properties are a nightmare. Here is the good news - rates dropped late last week and are pretty dang good right now! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I want those shredding scissors! I hate getting the big shredder out, and we don't have a cat anymore. The house WILL happen dolly, you'll see. FYI, you misspelled "cemetery" Love, Mom

Thanks Mom and Nikki! Noelle is keeping us motivated and this house is really worth staying positive over. We extended our rate and literally bought more time (but we still had a half point credit so we're not really paying that $690- so complicated!!). I want those shredding scissors too! I might buy them. If I do, I'll get you a pair also Mom.
