Growth chart

Still pregnant. Still antsy. Laundry is done, house is clean, nursery is complete... not much else to do except be fat and splash around in my kiddie pool. So I did a sewing project yesterday while everyone else drank PBR and went to the beach, and made Elsa a growth chart!

Well that's a bad picture. I swear, I need to take a photography class. Anyways, it's made from two pieces of muslin fabric with a strip of the same floral fabric I used on her throw pillow, sewn together and bound with a floral bias tape (bought from the rad Etsy shop PollyDanger). I made it five feet tall starting at one foot and ending at six feet (because *hopefully* she'll be over a foot long when she's born, and with my shorty genes thrown in there, no way is she getting to six feet), and sewed hot pink foot marker lines and light pink and orange inch marker lines the whole way up.

I embroidered the foot marker numbers in a turquoise thread to the left of the floral fabric, and the space on the right of the floral strip will be where I embroider her age and height on each birthday (or whenever my mom comes to visit so she can embroider it. She's much better than I am.).

I also hung her little sheep mobile that I made. I tried looking for a mobile holder that attaches to the crib but they were all clunky and plastic so I used some ivory satin cord and hung that from the ceiling instead. I like.

Now back to my kiddie pool...
