Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Quickbread!

We made these quickbread bottles for our neighbors for a little Christmas treat. They were pretty easy for me to make, and will be easy for them to make as well! Here's what they have layered inside of liter sized Weck jars:

2 cups of flour
1 cup of oats
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 cup of chocolate chips

Then for the included instructions:

1) In a large bowl, dump in the contents of the bottle.
2) In a small bowl, beat 1 and 1/2 cups of buttermilk, 2 eggs, and 1/4 cup of melted butter.
3) Add the wet mix to the dry mix and make a lumpy batter.
4) Scrape into a buttered 9x5" loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
5) Enjoy with egg nog or a spiked coffee!

I love this idea. I will have to remember this for next year. Or a "just because" gift needed.
